Do Manual Shower Valves still have a place in the market place today, or would you always recommend a Thermostatic Valve?
Manual showers do still have a place in the shower market, but we would always recommend the improved safety offered by a thermostatic shower valve such as the TMV3 approved Trevi CTV. However, manual showers can be used on systems which have sufficient alternative temperature controls in place.
If our customer has a low pressure gravity fed system - which Trevi shower would you recommend them to buy?
The Trevi Therm was specifically designed for low pressure UK systems, and has been proven over many years. It will offer good flow rates at water pressures as low as 0.1bar. For systems with even lower hot water pressure, and also some negative head systems, than Trevi Boost is the ideal solution (as long as a high pressure cold water supply is available) and offers a real performance advantage to an electric shower.
If our customer has just installed a combination boiler - which Trevi shower would you recommend them to buy?
All Trevi thermostatic showers, and the Trevi Blend manual shower, are suitable for use with combination boilers. However, some have been designed to work specifically with the higher hot water pressure offered by a combi boiler, including Trevi Link and Flight bar valves and the Trevi Logical HP wireless remote control digital shower.
Can you give us some details on the Trevi Logical shower - it looks a fantastic product. How does it function?
Trevi Logical is a digital shower with a wireless remote control. It uses the same proven thermostatic cartridge as used on other Trevi showers including Therm, CTV and TT, and the ceramic disc flow control from Trevi TT, housed in a solid brass body. Flow and temperature are then controlled using two electric motors. This is all housed in a plastic case which can be located remotely from the wet area. The wireless remote control has five very simple buttons, is intuitive to use and can be used up to 10m from the main unit. There are two buttons to increase or decrease flow rate, two to increase or decrease flow temperature and an on/off/pause button. The flow temperature is displayed using a row of LEDs which also show fault diagnosis. Logical is very easy to use and also very easy to install thanks to push fit water connections, a wireless remote control and a wide range of shower kit options.
Final question Richard - Next week your bathroom is being redone -what bathroom suite, shower, bath etc would you choose. Budget no problem!
If cost wasn't an issue, my ideal suite has to be 'Moments' from Ideal Standard. I would choose the 90cm basin, back to wall wc and bidet along with the whirlpool bath. This would be complimented by Moments brassware and furniture for storage. A Serenis 360 walk-in shower enclosure complete with water delivery system offers the ultimate in showering. However, for real opulence this would be replaced by an Ideal Standard Tris offering showering, steam and sauna all in one unit.
